Translated from the Italian original and checked number by number: if the two differ, the Italian text prevails.

The point: a new PROPOSAL, the S&P 500 short with a limit at 7,765, above the price; the measured edge is small. Today PCE at 13:30 Italian time and the ECB at 14:15. Last night the DAX we were watching hit its stop.

Against the week's lesson. Confirmed that the surprise moves prices, not the priced-in event: the Fed on hold was in the price, December moved (hike at 88% before the meeting, today at 82-84%; on Sunday we wrote it at 75-80%). Confirmed the risk premium on oil: last night the diplomatic opening lowered it. And Sunday's double evening became a triple one: Fed, letter to Iran, earnings. The price alone does not say who moved what.

The news that matters.

  • Yesterday's Fed. Rates on hold at 3.75-4.00% with 10 votes to 2: Cook and Hammack wanted to hike by 0.25 right away. Warsh: the hikes already made are starting to weigh, there is no hurry (Fed statement; investingLive 29 Oct). Gold rose as high as 4,082.72 last night and was back at 4,029.39 at 08:34. It touches the gold short, which plays out on rates, and today's two moves.
  • Iran and oil. Vance wrote to Rezaei to reopen talks (WSJ via investingLive) and last night WTI fell from 102.9 to 100.34. According to Axios, though, without a last-minute deal, new bombings are likely after the 3 Nov vote, energy included. According to TE, energy flows from the region are close to pre-war levels; crude inventories −1.892 million barrels, expected +0.8 (EIA). It is the basis of the PROPOSAL on the S&P and a risk for the short on gold.
  • Alphabet and Microsoft. After the close Alphabet −9-10% (search and advertising revenue below expectations), Microsoft +3-4% (investingLive 29 Oct); Nasdaq futures −1.4% on the Wall Street close. On the broker the drop is already in yesterday's bar: shortly before 21:00, two hours after the Fed, the Nasdaq was at 29,830, then it fell to 29,507.03. Two giants moving in opposite directions point to earnings, not to rates: a clue, not proof. It touches the S&P thesis, AI spending under scrutiny.
  • Euro. Euro/dollar at 1.1138, below 1.115, near the lows since April 2025; French public finances weigh (TE). It is the short WATCHED today.
  • Asia and yen. Nikkei +0.9% above 64,500, third session up, led by chips (Kioxia +8%, Advantest +7.7%). Dollar/yen at 157.84: the yen saw some safe-haven demand on doubts about AI (TE). It touches the weekly dollar/yen, with the BoJ tomorrow.

Today and tomorrow on the calendar. 13:30 September PCE (core expected +0.3% on the month, +3.1% on the year), US GDP (+3.2%) and jobless claims: a hot PCE adds little, the December hike is already priced in; a soft one surprises more (also the view of Justin Low, investingLive 29 Oct). 14:15 ECB, expected on hold at 2.50% (98.1%); Lagarde at 14:45. 21:05 Amazon and Intel. Tomorrow 00:30 Tokyo inflation, 04:00 BoJ, expected on hold at 1.25% (93%); 11:00 eurozone GDP (+0.2%); 13:30 US labour costs; 14:00 German inflation.

The moves in play.

  • Gold · short · PROPOSAL of 27 Oct, from 4,000 in the record: high 4,082.72 last night, stop 4,100 never touched; at 08:34 4,029.39, $29 against; time exit on 09 Nov.
  • Closed yesterday: DAX · short · WATCHED of 26 Oct. Stop touched around 21:00, with the German exchange closed; the day closed at 25,719.4, below the stop: the invalidation, a close above, did not happen. On paper −1.01 R. The stop is a price: touching it is enough.

From the weekly: gold · long · from 4,105, $76 against, exit in the record on 02 Nov; dollar/yen · long · from 157.680, 19 pips in favour, exit in the record on 18 Nov.

Today's moves.

  • S&P 500 · short · PROPOSAL: with the oil shock the S&P loses its underlying climb. Limit at 7,765, below a ceiling of 5 distinct days. The measure says «it no longer rises», not «it falls»: the downside bet has returned better than usual, but in absolute terms almost zero.
  • Euro/dollar · short · WATCHED: a Fed tougher than the ECB pushes the dollar; but the measured edge is noise.

The orders. These are the method's orders, recorded beforehand and judged afterwards in the public record: they are not financial advice.

Order 1 · S&P 500 · short · PROPOSAL 2026-10-29-02

  • Entry: limit at 7,765, recorded at 08:19. Why: just below 7774.49, where the price stopped on 5 distinct days, including 22 Sep and 21 Oct; there the stop sits at 1.23 ATR, at market it would sit at 1.75.
  • Stop: 7,860 (95 points, 1.23 ATR). Why: beyond the high of the 20, 60 and 120 sessions.
  • Target: 7,630 (135 points, 1.75 ATR). Why: above the 7618.25 band, 9 distinct days, the first serious level below.
  • Numbers: shift +0.112 R, ratio 1.39 (above noise, below 2), STABLE, net R +0.019; confidence MEDIUM, 4 out of 6. Gross R almost zero: long would have returned the same.
  • Validity and time exit: limit until 30 Oct 2026; time exit between 04 Nov 2026 and 05 Nov 2026, depending on the day of execution.
  • The reason: WTI +10% in 20 sessions and Brent at 114 keep the ten-year at 5% and the Fed heading for December; according to Axios bombings likely after 3 Nov; AI spending under scrutiny.
  • Invalidation: a close above 7844.20, a new 20-session high.
  • Risk: a soft PCE or a strong Amazon tonight; a deal with Iran that brings oil down. In the window PCE and ECB today, BoJ tomorrow, ISM on 02 Nov, BoE on 05 Nov.
  • In plain words: the method waits for the S&P higher up, below a ceiling already seen, and the limit fills only if the price rises, that is, against the thesis. It does not bet on a crash: after an oil shock like this, in the past the S&P stopped rising. A new 20-session high invalidates it.

Summary: S&P 500 · short · limit 7,765 · stop 7,860 · target 7,630 · valid until 30 Oct 2026.

  • Euro/dollar · short · WATCHED 2026-10-29-01: measured thesis, not an order. At market at 1.11372, stop 1.1185, target 1.1070; ratio 0.47 (noise), UNSTABLE, confidence 0 out of 6.
