Sealed envelopes
Record your forecast first, with a timestamp certified by an independent server; we measure it afterwards. The ranking of who really gets it right.
Everybody is right afterwards. Sealed envelopes exist to find out who is right beforehand: you write your forecast, the envelope is sealed with a date and time set by an independent server, and at expiry we open it together. Price is the judge. Nobody can edit, delete or backdate.
How it works
Write a forecast that can be verified: instrument, direction, level or threshold, by when. «Gold will rise» does not count; «gold closes above 4,300 by 31 October» does.
The envelope is sealed with date and time set by the server, not by your computer. From that moment it cannot be changed.
At expiry we open it and write down how it went, with price as the judge.
The ranking counts only envelopes sealed before the fact. Being right afterwards does not count.
